I started working with Leather in order to make the belts and bits of harness needed for my carriage work and was slowly drawn in. I attended harness making courses at Capel Manor College one of the world wide Centres of Excellence for saddlery, and the rest as they say is history. Now 20 years later as an about turn I get asked to teach courses.
Most of the items I have made are some form of bag , handbag, satchel or briefcase, all made from top quality saddlery leather, hand stitched and finished. However I also make belts, holsters, collars and whips, even leather lampshades for one client. Therefore if you have anything in mind do get in touch.
The process is when a customer expresses an interest we work together to agree the dimensions, colour, & design to ensure its as personal to you as possible. We are offering a truly bespoke service. Once we have agreed a design and price you will be asked to pay a deposit, and the project enters our production schedule. You will be kept informed of its progress and delivery date.
To date all of my items have been custom made, however it is my intention to start keeping one or two designs in stock, these will be offered for sale via the fitzrobbie web site.
