Product Details

Merryweather & Sons were one of the first manufacturers of Fire Engines based in Greenwich, south London, in the Early 1800s. As well as Fire Engines they supplied all of the equipment to go with them including Leather Fire Buckets.

This is a modern copy of an original Merryweather Bucket. I was able to examine and take measurements from an original bucket courtesy of English Heritage, when I was working on a Merryweather Fire Engine for them.

Made from Top Quality Saddlery leather approx 3mm thick cut by hand, with solid brass rings, and linen Thread. The raw materials are expensive and it takes some considerable time to stitch one of these all by hand (by me) , which is reflected in the price.
